Filmed against the panorama of the Utah mountains, the tale has something to say about vigilantism in the year 1876 as seen through the eyes of a boy, Billy Baker. Billy's fears and frustrations find an outlet in a small red-tailed hawk that he rescues from the jaws of a fox. Along with a secretive hermit, they nurse the hawk and train it to become a proud hunting bird. Approximate running time 98 minutes, color.
