Origen (C. 185 - C. 254) was a Greek father of the church and one of the most versatile and accomplished men in the early history of the church. Although not his major works, PRAYER and EXHORTATION TO MARTYRDOM are very sincere and moving documents. The Ancient Christian Writers series features the translated works of the Fathers.
