Children ages 9 to 15 will love reading about this caring, loving priest who had a hard time with learning, but nurtured a deep love for God and his parishioners. Saint Jean-Marie Vianney ('the Cure of Ars') grew up a farm boy born during the French Revolution. He longed to be a priest; flunked two ordination tests; but eventually succeeded in receiving Holy Orders. He devoted his life to the people in the village of Ars and is now the patron saint of parish priests. Part of the Vision Books series of saints for youth.
