The Editio Critica Maior documents the history of the Greek text through the first millennium on the basis of Greek manuscripts, old translations, and citations in ancient Christian literature. The edition provides indispensable information for answering questions like: How did the text initially look like? How did it change over the course of history, and why? How was it received in the early Christian era? In the course of preparing the edition, the initial biblical text was reconstructed again, based on a newly developed method. In this process, it became evident that the text requires extensive modification compared to the currently available editions of the Greek New Testament. After the publication of volume IV (Catholic Epistles), now volume III is available. It comprises the entire text of the Acts of the Apostles. For this volume, the initial text has been re-examined which led to 52 changes compared to the text printed in Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece 27th/28th edition and the UBS Greek New Testament 4th/5th edition. Volume III consists of three parts: The first part (III/1) is the text with exhaustive textual apparatus. It comes in two books (III/1.1: chapter 1-14, III/1.2: chapter 15-28 [this work]). The second part (III/2) provides supplementary material. The third part offers a commentary on selected cases as well as many additional studies on the textual transmission of Acts.
