Since its first publication in 1978 The Study of the Liturgy has come to be recognized as an indispensible resource for all those involved in the study, the planning celebration of the liturgy. The last two decades has been a period of producing liturgies. A developing ecumenical sense has encouraged many churches to assimilate features of other traditions. This updated version takes account of the recent changes. The ecumenical character is maintained among the authors which include fifteen Anglicans, six Roman Catholics, three Methodists, and one Orthodox.
