An interactive, self-concept poster for older students. The premise is for students to interview themselves for an alien newspaper. The outer space theme will appeal to this age group, and the unusual perspective should elicit revealing responses! Page one requires students to design a masthead for the alien paper, fill in pertinent facts about themselves (such as height, weight and distance between ears), indicate the location of their hometown on a globe and create and answer interview questions about themselves. The center pages feature life on Earth and ask students for information about diet, clothing and favorite things (songs, books, TV shows, movies, hobbies) and to provide descriptions of themselves as infants and adults. The back page deals with Earthling social life and queries students about families, friends and pets. Level: grades 4 and up
