This work provides an introduction to the major non-neoscholastic, English speaking 20th Century Catholic Theologians. Fergus Kerr notes this with some trepidation, reminding us that many Italian and Spanish speaking theologians contributed heavily to the Church's theology in the modern century. Each chapter provides a brief biographical sketch, a summary of the theologian's major points of emphasis, as well as detailed descriptions of the controversies in which they were immersed. Theologians included in this work are, Karl Rahner, Henri de Lubac, Hans Urs von Balthasar, Joseph Ratzinger, and many more.
