Rose's Journal is a work of fiction based on the writings and recordings of real people living in the Dust Bowl and in New York City at the time of the Depression. Although all the characters in the book have been created by the author's imagination, the book is meant to provide a sense of people's actual experiences of the time. It does not and is not meant to represent the life of any one real person.
