This teacher's guide for the Summit Building on the Rock Grade 2: Fellowship course makes class management easy! The Building on the Rock series is designed to help elementary students develop a Christian worldview from an early age. This course is an integrated biblical worldview and Bible survey curriculum that teaches students to view the world through four relationships: with the Creator, with each other, with ourselves, and with His creation. This course uses the spiral approach and is built around 20 biblical truths that will help encourage students to use Scripture as the litmus test for every idea they encounter. Children will build a Biblical worldview, develop Christian values, learn to know and trust God's word, and grow in their confidence of God's word! This course covers 34 weeks of instruction with four daily lessons per week; each daily lesson includes a two-page teaching spread. The Worldview section features 20 lessons (one per 'biblical truth' being taught). The Bible Survey section includes 10 lessons that include worldview links. Four additional lessons review the major concepts discussed in the other levels. Daily lesson plans are coded with the unit number, lesson number, and day. Lesson plans include a memory verse, objective, a list of materials required for the lesson, and enrichment activities. Suggested procedures for teaching the lesson are divided into three sections (Introduce, Develop, and Close) with Socratic questions to students written in the text. Reduced-size student workbook pages with overlaid answers are included in each chapter. Tests are included in the blackline masters. Grade 2. ESV and International Children's Bible Scripture versions used, but this course can be used with all Bible versions. 325 pages, spiralbound. Two CDs included: Biblical Truth Couplets and Supplemental Materials.
