Otis and all of his friends love living on the farm. Overlooking the pumpkins sits a stern-looking scarecrow, who never smiles or says hello. After a while the animals and Otis forget about the scarecrow and go about their own fun. During their free time, they all get together and play fun games---with the Quiet Game, being Otis' favorite game of all. But it isn't long before all of the animals move or make a sound, and it is just Otis left. . . and he is left wondering about the lonely scarecrow alone in the field.
