Parents can choose to start on any flight within the broader level as each is inclusive and can be used in any order (with the exception of Essay Flight 3). Lessons progress from beginner to advanced levels within each book; instruction and topics are unique to each year. Each 'flight' of Essay or Paragraph writing covers one year of instruction (32 lessons), and includes six writing projects (5-6 weeks each). Lessons are usually scheduled twice a week, with video instruction taking place on one day, and the 'flying solo' independent work on the other. Spelling, grammar, and handwriting instruction is not provided. Here to Help: Paragraph Writing Flight 3 covers descriptive writing, persuasive writing, expository writing, poetry, and narrative writing paragraphs. Each project follows a specific writing process, and each lesson follows the same pattern for a consistent experience. The 'Paragraph Writing Flight 3 Student Workbook & Language Helps Booklet' features the pages students are to tear out and place in a three-ring binder. Pages include a 'language helps' reference booklet and a variety of worksheet forms for each project. The 'Paragraph Writing Flight 3 Teacher's Guide & Lesson DVDs' contains an overview of the curriculum and the writing process; scripted lessons are provided for each week's lesson and are organized by writing project.
