Nice Words Matter by Diane Stinson, and illustrated by Nicolas Peruzzo, is a story about two best friends, Sophie and Jack who are inseparable. One day, Jack inadvertently hurts Sophie's feelings when he says something mean to her and Sophie doesn't want to be friends anymore. Sophie's dad explains to both the children the impact that a misused word can have and how words can hurt feelings. Jack learns an important lesson about the power of words and apologizes to Sophie and saves their friendship.
