Bradshaw contends that we need to look at Scripture with untraditional, more cultural lenses. Aspects of the story can change how local cultures think and behave toward government, gender identities, economics, science, and technology. Effective change takes place only in a context of reconciliation, community, gender empowerment and mutual learning. Numerous examples illustrate the tensions that occur when cultures and narratives collide.
