The chief purpose of this teacher's guide, as explained in the student's introduction, is to give students the fun of using the Latin they have learned. Without doubt, most teachers will wish to test their students occasionally on this material, but this should not be done so frequently that the reader seems like 'extra work' instead of reward for having learned the programmed text. The most obvious use of the reader is for group reading in class. The number of readings in each Unit that should be covered in class is entirely up to the individual teacher. The reader is also suitable for outside work. If the teacher wishes to keep the class together in the programmed text, and able student can do an enormous amount of individual work in the reader.
