David Dickson (1583-1662), known as 'The Apostle of the Covenant', was a gifted and godly preacher who is best known in our day for his commentaries on the Psalms, Matthew, and Hebrews. One of his greatest acts of service to the church was his contribution to the Directory for Public Worship which appears in the Westminster Assembly's works. He labored along with Rev. James Durham to compose The Sum of Saving Knowledge which is often found with the Westminster Documents.
