Students tackle regions at a time, and learn to see shapes that correspond to the names of the countries; for example, the shape of Morocco is drawn to be a maraca. Capitals are taught by adding an object to the initial country drawing that sounds like the capital name - so Rabat becomes a robot playing a maraca. Finally, geographical features are connected with simple sentences that build on the country name. Students fill in the blanks with the country name, capital name, or body of water/mountain/landscape feature. Students learn countries first and then progress to capitals and other information. Tests are also included. Grades 3 & Up. The elementary schedule covers two maps per week (for a 5-week program) while the middle school & up schedule covers two to three maps per week (for a 7-week program).
