In Mr. Lincoln's Way by Patricia Polacco, everyone in the local elementary school loves the principal Mr. Lincoln. Mr. Lincoln always has a way of making his students feel special, but one student, Eugene, hates Mr. Lincoln, just like he hates all other people who are different from him. Mr. Lincoln knows that Eugene really isn't bad, and he makes it his mission to help him open up and grow to be a better person. Can the principal find a way to get through to 'Mean Gene' and show him that the differences between people are what make them special?
