In CREATOR AND CREATION, Ronald Simkins reexamines the established scholarly views of Biblical creation. Too often this material has been used to justify exploitation of nature and natural resources. It has also spawned a rejection of Biblical principles as promoting such exploitation. Simkins opens up the ecologic world of the Bible, making it relevant to the environmentally concerned modern world. By demonstrating that ancient Israel, like the neighboring cultures, realized the intimate correspondence between God and the natural world, he restores the proper balace to our discussion of the creation-Creator relationship. The core of the book is a study of the creation accounts and worldviews of the ancient Near East and of ancient Israel. PS NOTES INTENDED AUDIENCE: Academic/Scholar AUTHOR: Ronald A.
