Three Mothers and Four Fathers (1960) This is the truestory of Li Po, a 9-year old Chinese orphan boy who has hadthree sets of parents. His real parents were killed byCommunists, but Li Po escaped with his uncle who later soldhim. He is adopted by another refugee family that mistreatedhim and he ran away from them. As the story opens Li Po hasbeen given shelter by a couple who are professional thievesand teach him to steal. Later, when he is caught stealingand returns to his third set of parents and appeals formercy, they throw him out. A missionary with a localorphanage intervenes and leads Li Po to a Christianorphanage where he finds his 'fourth father' -- his HeavenlyFather. The film was photographed in Hong Kong where itactually happened.
