The essays in this volume are in honor of Bob Bratcher, whom the April-June 1994 issue of Bible Collectors' World referred to as a 'significant 20th century translator'. The contributors themselves all have served as translators on translation committees in numerous languages in various parts of the world, and some have worked both as translators and translation consultants. All have advanced academic degrees in either biblical studies or linguistics; and most have extensive practical experience in Bible translation in cultures that are not their own.
