Focused Writing: An Elementary Writing Process is designed for use in grades K-8 with three levels: A, B, and C. 'A' writers are beginners, 'B' writers have mastered a few skills, and 'C' writers have mastered more skills but need to expand their writing abilities. Each assignment in this book has been tailored for presentation to all three levels and features an overview, target author, audience, form of writing, the procedure, and suggested focus skills. 36 writing assignments are included; they cover a wide range of genres, and which are organized in order of complexity. Two evaluation assignments for use at the beginning of the course are also included.
