Birds are everywhere, a delightful part of nature that anyone can observe and study! This course will teach students about birds, their anatomy, how they live, and individual characteristics. Students will learn about 30 common birds as well as some uncommon varieties; by the end of the course, students should be able to identify 31 birds by their distinguishing characteristics and song. Lessons begin by reading the terms to know, the assigned text, and working through the comprehension questions. Designed to be used along with the sold-separately What's that Bird? text, the Peterson First Guide to Birds, the Peterson Field Guide Color-In Book: Birds and the 'Common Birds and Their Songs' CD (currently not available at Christianbook.com), students will use these resources in order to answer the questions and exercises in the text, and to help them remember bird colorings and markings. 'Bird Fact' questions will guide students through learning about the bird family, habitat, call/song, and distinguishing characteristics of birds in turn. A review lesson is included. 29 pages, softcover. 5th Grade students.
