When Logan Langly backs out of getting his Mark, he finds himself leading the Markless revolution with his friends. But while some of the Markless are fighting Chancellor Cylis' army, the Dust is busy trying to find a cure for a horrible epidemic that's sweeping through the Marked. Logan doesn't know who to trust anymore, including his own sister Lily who is a commander in Cylis' army.
