This course teaches high school students more advanced writing skills such as composing thesis statements, using MLA format, and more, along with covering advanced essay models, helping students to learn to write argumentative, personal, narrative, descriptive, persuasive, research, and literary analysis essays. Grades 9 – 12. The Student Book contains assignments, instructions, engaging source texts, blank outlines, checklists, sample compositions, and vocabulary cards printed on cardstock. Lessons are written directly to the student and include easy-to-follow assignments plus in-book exercises. Suggested optional activities using the IEW resource, Janice Campbell's Excellence in Literature: American Literature, 3rd Edition, are included. these are optional. Also included is access to a free download of the Student Resource Notebook, a necessary component, as well as a 31-page Reproducible Checklists e-book. 308 pages, spiral-bound softcover, reproducible for use within a family.
