This is the companion to THE STUDY OF LITURGY. THE STUDY OF SPIRITUALITY focuses on the individual devotion of Christians. Spirituality is here defined as a combination of praying and living as practised both by believers and those who would become recognized as saints. Over sixty writers have contributed representing Anglican, Roman Catholic, Free Church, and Orthodox traditions. Careful attention is given to the biblical witness; the Greek, Syrian, Russian, Latin and Protestant traditions receive detailed treatment; attention is also given to the contempory charismatic and ecumenical movements.
