This Level 1 kit is the first of six levels that together will bring students to a thorough knowledge of vocabulary, grammar, and Latin translation. Level 1 is designed for early elementary students only, who will require additional practice and a slower introduction; older students may start with Level 2 or 3. The workbook features phonics and handwriting exercises that will help children to learn how Latin words are pronounced and spelled. Tracing, matching, and writing exercises are included, as well as a set of flashcards to cut out in the back. Lessons cover the Latin alphabet, diphthongs, special consonants and more. This quiz and exam book includes quizzes, a comprehensive midterm, a comprehensive final, translation exercises, vocabulary identification questions, and some simple conjugations. Answers provided in the back; parents are supposed to cut out the tests. The short 'Answers Only' answer key is a small booklet that features line-listed answers for the workbook. Answers are organized by page number. Keyed to the workbook level and page, the flashcards feature a letter on the front, and the pronunciation on the back.
