This is a unique collection of some basic public documents regarding the 'Fundamentalist-Moderate Controversy' in the Southern Baptist Convention during the years 1979 to 1991. Included are press releases and news stories, motions and resolutions, sermons and addresses, and interviews of and statements by certain of the principals. To make this collection even more useful Walter Shurden has added an overview of the whole, an introduction and annotated chronology for each period, and a conclusion. The present selection is excellent: all sides are represented and the events of the ongoing SBC 'holy war' are replayed by the news releases, sermons and addresses, motions and resolutions through which those events originally were played out.
