The Life of St. Catherine of Siena is a unique biography, in that its author, Blessed Raymond of Capua, was one of St. Catherine's spiritual directors. He knew her mother, who revealed to him many stories about St. Catherine. He also knew other members of her family and many of her friends. The information in this book is taken directly from these people who knew St. Catherine and from the author's own experiences and the notes left to him by her former spiritual director.
