In 1994, Heidi and Rolland Baker arrive in Mozambique amidstthe hard times following the Mozambique Civil War. Even theRed Cross trucks were not safe and were bombed. Beforecoming to Mozambique, Heidi and Rolland worked asmissionaries in Indonesia and China. After hearing about theconditions in Mozambique, they decided to go there and workwith the poorest of the poor. They make a difference byadopting a dilapidated orphanage. The children had all kindsof diseases and sometimes even ate rats to survive. Heidiand Rolland began caring for the children, educating andfeeding them. During the hard times, sometimes eventhreatened by death, Heidi and Rolland experienced amazingmiracles of healing for the blind, crippled and thoseafflicted with AIDS. Currently, Heidi and Rolland providethree residential orphanages and schools, caring for 700children. Hundreds more are cared for by many of theirthousands of pastors. The Bakers serve the most forgotten,including street children, prostitutes, the imprisoned andthose surviving off a huge city dump. This documentary showshow Heidi and Rolland are a powerful inspiration for many inMozambique, Africa and around the world.
