The Hermeneia Series of Commentaries are scholarly and critical treatments of the scriptures. This excellent work on Jeremiah by William Holladay begins with an introductory section in the first volume which discusses the form, setting, and theology of the book. The commentary, based on in-depth linguistic and hisorical analysis draws out the meaning and context of the book. A must for any Old Testament scholar.
