The Rose of Sharon is from the region of Sharon in Israel. Not actually a rose, it is part of the hibiscus family. Its blooms are nonetheless beautiful and glorious, as Isaiah described the millennial reign when the Bride of the Messiah, the church, shines forth in her glory and beauty. It's specifically mentioned by the Beloved in Song of Solomon 2:1, I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.
