The HarperCollins Study Bible, edited by Wayne Meeks, is a NRSV study Bible including the Apocrypha. It's orientation is ecumenical (more toward what is traditionally called 'liberal', and less toward 'evangelical'), and the verse-by-verse notes give extensive information on historical background, authorship, customs, meanings of place names and wordplays in the original language.
Features include: Book Introductions; Cross References; Same-Page Notes (incorporating findings from the Dead Sea Scrolls and recent archaeological research); In-Text Maps, Tables, and Illustrations; 16 Full-Color Maps; Table of Old Testament quotes found in the New Testament; Bible Timeline; Two-column text; Black letter edition. Paper resists 'bleeding' with most highlighter pens.
