By the grace of God, we join Peter in the greatest affirmation of all: that the prophet Jesus is the Son of the living God. Out of cowardice, we joined Pedro and kept saying 'I don't know that man.' The church recognizes and denies, affirms and betrays, accepts and rejects. Twenty centuries of history are witnesses of that duality.
