David Gibson, a Vatican journalist, presents a behind-the-scenes look at the early years of Pope Benedict XVI and what his papacy means for the future. While well written, Gibson seems troubled that Benedict XVI is not more 'progressive' and seems at times to lament the fact that the Church under the new pontiff will not be one of compromise. This viewpoint will be welcomed by those who think that the Church needs to adapt to modern Culture but will trouble those with a more traditional bent in their view of the Ancient Church.
