Considered by some to be the 'eighth wonder of the world,' the Amber Room, a legendary room, with precious eighteenth-century amber panels that graced a tsarist palace in St. Petersburg, was stolen by Nazi invaders. The panels were was last seen during the chaotic scramble at the end of WWII. Official statements announced the panels were destroyed in the ravages of fire during the war. Case closed...or is it?
