When Sophie's baby sister, Hope, is born with Down syndrome, Sophie wonders if God's really there. Between her baby sister and a difficult girl at school, she feels compelled to 'fix' things by imagining Dr. Devon Downing. But when her fixes fail--and God doesn' provide the answers she wants--Sophie learns something new about love. She sees that answers don't always come when you want them, and love is at work even when you can't see it. Recommended for ages 8 to 12.
