The conclusion to The Amish Beginnings Series, takes place twenty-five years later as the first groups of Amish leave Germany and settle in the New World during pre-revolutionary Pennsylvania.
Betsy Zook is a seventeen year old whose family is one of the more recent immigrants. Her parents die in a fire set during an Indian raid and Betsy, her brothers and several others are held captive. While she is away, the man she loves finds comfort in Tessa who is the daughter of Anna and Bairn Bauer. When Betsy is able to return, she must decide where she fits in.
