Peter Ball and Malcolm Grundy have combined their experience in spiritual direction and adult education to develop their latest book about the Adult Catechumenate. They set out in clear and practical ways the stages in which adults can be brought into a deeper faith through the support and guidance of local people in parishes. They have been able to expand on their previous writings and have brought together their experience of working with colleagues in Europe, the United States, and Australia. In Britin the Catechumenate Network now involves a wide range of parishes and is rich in ecumenical experience. Included in this book are the latest rites for welcoming adults into church membership, together with a detailed account of the history and spirituality of the Catechumenate. In a conclusion, which reflects on their long experience, they show the way in which adults may make a journey into faith and move on to a life of adult discipleship.
