A person's last words before parting company for a time are always important and Jesus certainly wasn't going to waste the opportunity when his disciples were listening so intently. 'Make disciples' - Jesus knew that if his disciples obeyed that, then all else would follow on. If we get the discipling part right then the church will grow and the church can become both wide AND deep, nurturing life and giving refreshment instead of generating disappointment and frustration. The lack of depth and maturity in the worldwide church is a major problem. Very few Christians really know their Bibles well and can apply the Word of God to their daily lives. Few really live as 'salt and light' in an unsavoury and dark world. Most make little impact for the Kingdom or even know how to share their faith simply and in such a way that people want to listen. Sadly many Christians are not even aware of this; that their lives could be so different from what they are. This book aims to explain what the vital act of discipleship is and provide practical guidelines for discipling others.
