Mildred and Charlie Landreth have become the proud parents of a baby boy, Percy, and have settled into quiet domestic life. Their days are filled with family gatherings, visits with friends, pony rides, and walks through the countryside, and as Christmas approaches, they send fond greetings to their loved ones back home. Annis and Elsie make time for their studies, and Elsie - whose kind and obedient nature touches all around her - learns important lessons about obedience, trust, and guilt.
