In Canvas: A Portrait of Jesus, students will delve into the seeming contradiction of the humanity and divinity of Jesus. As they study Jesus as man and Jesus as God, they will have a fresh outlook on how God makes all things new through Jesus. The four-session study consists of an Immerse Lesson the first week, followed by three more traditional lessons. The Immerse lesson provides an introduction to Jesus; Lesson 2 focuses on Jesus, the Christ; Lesson 3 focuses on Jesus as fully human and fully divine, and Lesson 4 focuses on Jesus and the atonement. The Leader will lead the first lesson which is very interactive. The three traditional lessons can either be led by the Leader or by the students. The Leader Guide includes everything you'll need to lead the four-week session including a section for how to work with student leaders and a Leader devotional. Each lesson is built around Kolb's Learning Cycle and moves students through five sections: - Imagine - introduction to the themes with a fun activity
- Sketch - meat of the lesson focusing on the central ideas
- Reflect - time to digest and process what they have heard
- Create - puts knowledge into practice using creative activities and projects
- Exhibit - practice and reinforce what they've learned through the week
