Somebody has been lying in my bed - And There She Is! The Little Wee Bear's cry of discovery is one of the favorite lines of dialogue in children's literature. Here, in Paul Galdone's new version of The Three Bears, it holds a special delight as all three peer down at sleepy Goldilocks, one alarmed eye open. There are other surprises too. Goldilocks, usually portrayed as sweet and pretty, has a tooth missing and shows the bratty side of her nature as she roams at will through the bears' home. Little Wee Bear carries a teddy bear with him wherever he goes. And throughout, in his pictures, Mr. Galdone gives visual emphasis to the size difference on which the tale is built.
