The Bible gives proper names to two angels, but extra-biblical literature contains many angels, some complete with a history of their own, some simply named in passing or in lists, and some given only a title. <>A Dictionary of Angels<> collects thousands of angels - from classic fiction, from Gnosticism and other esoteric sources, from the kaballah and other occult sources, and in legends, non-Christian myths, and supposed books of magic - with a brief description of each (or perhaps a blind entry leading to a more comprehensive entry) and many illustrations from diverse sources are included. The appendix covers cabbalistic, zodiacal and Gnostic charts and lists along with the English translations of some magic spells and magical conjurations from various sources.
