the voice of romans is a completely new translation of the Apostle Paul's letter with a view to communicating with those immersed in a postmodern culture. Contributors include, a writer and speaker, Chris Seay, a New Testament professor, David Capes, and an author and poet, Kelly Hall. The Voice is a unique retelling of the Holy Scriptures using the best minds of this emerging generation of Christian leaders. A team of 40 authors from different disciplines (scholars, pastors, writers, musicians, poets and artists) collaborate to 'retell' rather than 'translate' - a kind of cross between translation and paraphrase. The Ecclesia Bible Society, led by Chris Seay, calls this a 'soul translation' rather than a 'mind translation'. The role of scholarship and accuracy is not ignored, but, scholars partner with others to bring out the nuances of beauty and mood of each text. The end result is a product that is readable and enjoyable, personal and yet diverse, stimulating and creative.
