I Survived The Attach of the Grizzlies, 1967 by Lauren Tarshis is a fictionalized account of true events. 11-year-old Melody Vega is visiting Glacier National Park with her family, just like she does every year. But this year is different with her mom gone, and even the animals are acting funny. The grizzly bears are acting aggressive and there have been some human attacks. When Melody is face to face with an angry grizzly, her only thought is of survival. Appeals to third through fifth graders, reading level is about a grade four.
