Heroes and Heroines of the Past: American History Part 2: 1837 to the Present is the second of a two-book curriculum series that together covers 30 lessons for a full year of history instruction.
This is a multi-level curriculum can be used with students in grades 1-6. Each lesson is divided into two sections; the first page has a larger font with a more simplistic overview for grades 1-2, while the next section has the same information at a more advanced level for students in grades 3-6.
This curriculum integrates a literature component, lots of hands-on historical crafts, music, memory verses, skits, and writing topics for a fun, complete history program. Structured in an easy-to-follow format, the leveled pages of lesson text precede the exercises; chapters end with questions, writing topics, geography work, hands-on crafts/activities, and on the last lesson of the week, a memory verse.
This curriculum is designed to be used with a number of components: the American History Additional Materials CD-ROM, Listen to Some US History MP3 CD, Sing Some History Audio CD, Historical Skits Volume 1, and the Heroes & Heroines of the Past Literature Package; these are referenced in this volume, but are not included - - all resources are sold-separately.
Volume 2 alone covers 15 weeks; lessons take approximately 1 hour, though time will vary. Grades 1-6. Includes pages 381-781 (pages 1-380 are in Volume 1). Softcover. Line-listed answer keys included in the back. Indexed, softcover. Non-reproducible and non-consumable.
