The Return of the King is the final installment in the Lord of the Rings. Separated by events, as the Shadow of Mordor grows and the opposing armies battle for good and evil, the Fellowship of the Ring draws together again.
The Lord of the Rings maintains the breaks between the 3-volume set, as well as Tolkien's division of the text into six 'books;' page numbers follow the 'books' as if they were in one volume, not three; Volume III contains pages 731-1137, softcover. Index and appendices included.
