Dally is a woman who lost her family in an attack on her homeland. She is able to communicate with animals and later finds she can communicate with people she has never met. Lady Shona must save her land and seeks out the enemy by attacking them head-on. The realm of Hyam is overcome by a mysterious illness known as the wasting disease that has no cure. Dally’s abilities become the only hope for Hyam. She alone could mean the difference between victory and defeat.
