This book looks at the Lewis and Clark Expedition in central Montana between the Marias River and the Gates of the Mountains, west to the Continental Divide. Although this is a relatively small part of the area explored by Lewis and Clark, the time they spent here is rich in discoveries and happenings. This detailed presentation is vivid, historically correct, and an enjoyable read for the casual tourist as well as the Lewis and Clark buff.
