This series uses visual tools to help students learn and apply math skills. Each book teaches 10 key math concepts. Lessons are arranged in 5 parts: Part A is a concrete activity that accesses student's prior knowledge. Part B uses a chart to record student's knowledge of the essential skill from beginning to end of lesson. Part C introduces a second graphic organizer to develop student's proficiency with the skill. Part D repeats the graphic organizer and extends the skill; students create problems for peers in collaborative learning experiences. Part E is an assessment with multiple-choice questions and written-response questions. Two types of graphic organizers found in each lesson assist students in organizing, remembering, and mastering concepts, recording information, and problem solving. Each student book includes a pretest, 10 lessons, mini-assessment for each lesson; post test; and glossary of key concepts. Teachers Guide for grade 6 is stock # 791419.
